Calls, calls, and more calls

One of the biggest requests of the Vox Novus mailing list was "We want more calls for scores/works"

I will list all of the Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame calls below. This is the start of something. Next year is the 15th Anniversary for the project. Vox Novus is preparing for it by having 15 calls completed. (I think we have 17 sets we called for scores) I am also planning to have at least 12 more calls. (once a month)

What else is coming?! I am restarting the Contemporary Recordings project. This is a "production" project, which in my terminolgy means that the composer co-produces their work. I am planning to do this for 3 performance/recording projects: piano solo, violin solo, and clarinet solo. If you are interested, email me directly; I want to directly support people on this list before I put out a general call.

Stay tuned.... I have to do another 60x60 call. There is a demand! Several musicians want me to do longer chamber calls too. AND there is a new series I am producing. (There will most likely be a call there too.) Oh yeah! and don't forget about dance! I am looking for choreographers and dancers too!

Rock Out!

Deadline for works is December 6th, 2024

Can't fit it in a minute?! TRY! Rock out with this "punk" inspired call for violin. The theme is for anything relating to punk music. For Orest Smovzh, the possibility of short works resonates with the raw simplicity of earlier punk and no wave music, also some later noise music. He often describes these pieces as works that "resist elaboration, compress dramaturgy, or freeze in a brief moment". Orest also usually calls them "condensed music"
