Monica Chew is an Oakland composer and pianist who celebrates presenting rarely performed music and new works from around the world. The concert will take place in the Brand Library Recital Hall. Admission is free and seating is limited. Sponsored by the Brand Associates. Date: Saturday, September 14, 2024 Celebrated for their unique approach and virtuosic performances, TC4 has delighted audiences in the greater Los Angeles area, introducing audiences the exciting music of the saxophone quartet. TC4 uses their unique style to create a fresh environment for classical music; to reflect our lived experience and mixed culture, blending the known with the unknown. To date, TC4 has presented hundreds of concerts throughout the US, and have recently begun performing with symphonic organizations, including the South Valley Symphony, premiering a new Saxophone Quartet Concerto by Robert Alexander, and upcoming performances with the Sonoma State Symphonic Winds, performing Second Nature by Viet Cuong. They have championed the music of living composers, including Andrew Sigler, Joel Love, Nina Shekhar, and Michael Markowski, and were recently featured on Vox Novus' Fifteen Minutes of Fame in New York City. Program: Music by Michael Markowski, Avner Dorman, Gaia Flagello, Chris Evan Hass and miniatures from their Fifteen Minutes of Fame call for scores. Persistence of Melancholy performed at Pensacola ComposerFest XIXGet ready for a a truly eclectic music experience as Pensacola ComposerFest XIX unfolds in the Pensacola State College Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium on Sunday, September 15 at 2:30 p.m. Each year, ComposerFest showcases original music of mostly local and regional composers.
