Turkish Composer, Acoustic and Electric Bass Player(26) lives in New York. He graduated Dokuz Eylul University as a piano student of Esin Durmaz and Pr. Turgut Aldemir(harmony).He received scholarships from The Collective School of Music, Western Oregon University,Italy Siena Fondazione,Modern Music Academy,NHBF2010-2012.He recorded 4 albums as a sideman on the bass guitar.(Alessandro Sgobbio,Pete Jung,Ersin Ozyurt,Alper Demir.). He Performed with Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. He worked as a substitute teacher at The Collective School of Music, NY. He received Yamaha Best Bass Player Award of Turkey 2008.

Alba Francesca Battista

Alba Francesca Battista (1987) is graduated in Musica Elettronica at “D. Cimarosa” Conservatoire of Avellino, Italy, under the guidance of M° Damiano Meacci, with the highest possible marks. She also graduated in Piano at the same Conservatoire and in Physics, specialized in Acoustic and Nanotechnologies. She is the author of “Elementi di Acustica Fisica e sistemi di diffusione sonora”, an appreciated book written as an introduction to the world of Acoustic and Electroacoustic, adopted in many Italian Music Schools.

This work is dedicated to piano and to Robert Schumann, one of the most extraordinary piano composers. As he splits his personality into Florestan and Eusebius, which have different but complementary peculiarity, in this electroacoustic work all the sound event come from a piano (Fazioli piano samples, as the call asks), processed with different technics of synthesis; the result is that each sound could or not be take back to a piano one, but, when not, it exalts one of its inner properties. Each sound is the Eusebius part of the whole.

Marcin Brzozowski

Marcin Brzozowski - the pianist and composer. He finished secondary music school in Gdansk, on the instrumental department. Interested in improvisation since the early years of his life. Even as a child he felt the magic of inventing their own sounds, playing the piano. At the age of seven, he discovered the music of Chopin. As a young boy quickly learned to read music, playing the easier pieces of Frederic Chopin. Reading mazurkas and waltzes absorbed him that, so in just one year he learned to play difficult songs reading them avista. In high school he revealed a rebellious character of musician, who began playing their own songs, leaving the compulsory teaching of music. Over the years, improvising on the piano came to a large practice, and focused only on their own works, sometimes going back to the music of Chopin, who was a lifelong closer to his heart. Marcin is not a typical composer. With knowledge of harmony and ear training, discovered his own world of music. Do not apply any rules of musical forms, or harmonics, learned in school. He played the piano in clubs, pubs and hotels. His music is gaining popularity on the Internet. Receives rave reviews at foreign sites. Marcin awaits the return of his career.

I'm a "washashore" Cape Codder(Massachusetts)living in a house on a hill in the trees by the marsh. I am surrounded by the rolling dunes, forest and wetlands visited by thousands every year. I studied music at the University of Idaho at Moscow in the 1970's forming several bands both rock and jazz. After moving to Washington DC to listen to the musicians in the jazz scene, I moved to the Cape finding peace and a supportive environment for concentrated composing.

I used glaciers rubbing together, whale sounds, vocals stretched way out, and my friend who doesn't play piano, playing piano. Credit goes to Marylou Blakeslee and me

Antonio D'Amato

He is intoxicated by music. He graduated in Piano, Harpsichord, Music for multimedia and Instrumental music teaching. He also studied composition for eight years, bassoon for three and baroque organ. In 2010 he was Ondes Martenot student in Strasbourg and Paris. At university he was student in Media and Communication Sciences. Now he attends the last year of Electronic music course. He works as piano teacher, and sound engineer. His first electronic composition was selected for the ICMC 2012.

The short piece is built purely from samples supplied by the 60x60 call, and involves the use of complex DSP processes throughout. The esthetic for this work comes from the intent of generating an imaginary landscape in which the mystical sensations of exploring a piano factory, such as the complex labor involved in manufacturing the instrument, is depicted and experienced by the listener. PianoMade pays homage to the expert men and women who tirelessly build and regulate pianos.

I started my career as a musician and teacher of guitar and music theory in 2001.The 2004 joined the Federal University of Bahia studying composition. In 2007 I launched independently disk "sour Studies Vol I" which placed second in Prix London Burning (RJ). In the same year I did the course Fundamentals of Audio and Acoustics in IAV (SP) and since then I've been producing, recording and mixing albums, soundtracks for dance, theater and cinema, advertising pieces and making PA in live events.

Jason Ulysses DaSiva AND Douglas DaSilva

Jason and Douglas DaSilva have collaborated on various works in the past. Jason and Douglas both regularly and separately compose chamber music for various instruments. Pianist, fashion model, and composer, Jason recently had his work "Dark Shark" for solo cello premiered by Suzanne Mueller on the Composer's Voice concert series. Douglas is a curator, teacher and composer in New York City.

"The Nadir of Seaside Heights" is their dedication to the recently visited Seaside Heights, NJ, which was devastated by hurricane Sandy.

Brian Alan DeLaney

Brian DeLaney is a young composer from Houston, Texas. He began his path of composition while studying at COM. There he displayed an aptitude for theory and composition, impressing the faculty enough to allow him to skip ahead. He then studied theory and composition at HBU where he received several awards including the Presidential Scholarship, the Scullen Scholarship and the HBU Instrumental Grant. His compositional style is influenced by many different compositional styles from chant to the mathematical processes of Schillinger. He believes strongly in the synthesis of past musical styles but never stops looking for new modes of expression.

This piece, Anomalous, was composed using only audio samples of a piano, both keys and various percussion effects, and manipulation of the signal through digital means. The sounds have been transformed into a musical idea far different from the original tones. The piece begins with a synth-like resonance underscored by a deep almost heartbeat soundscape. This atmosphere is interrupted by a rhythmic pulse punctuated by short distorted piano notes. This builds to a sort of crescendo until ultimately making way for a sound reminiscent of the contrabass to come into the forefront leading to a final descent into nothingness.

Born in Chorzow/Poland in the year 1986 and moved to germany in 1988. Began with the musical education as a child at the musicschool in Dusseldorf. Later on went to the composition class of David P. Graham, after that I continued my works in the Studio for Electronic Music by Christian Banasik.

This work is a complete algorithmic and aleatoric improvisation played for one minute with algorithmic vector trees. The glitches and cuts are generated in realtime with a aleatoric effect processor.

Night Time Noises are those creepy sounds that we all heard when we were trying to sleep as children. The sudden panic when you realise that there's a monster under the bed! The pounding of your heart as you hide under the covers to try and go back to sleep. Then the creepy tap tap tap of the trees outside your window....

Rachael Forsyth is a composer and woodwind player based in London. She teaches students of all ages and gigs around the UK in bands of all shapes and sizes. She writes music for her own education publishing company as well as music for other groups and publishers

He graduated in Electronic Music and in Classical Guitar. His music (electroacoustic) has been performed in many festivals and conferences worldwide including ICMC 2003, 4° Concorso "Pierre Schaeffer", ICMC 2005, EAR Sounds Electric 2005, LAC06, ICMC 2006, Festival Musica Viva 2008 (Sound Walk), NWEAMO 2008, Taukay FrammentAzioni 08, Vox Novus 2008 (60x60 project), Emufest 2011, LAC11, etc.. . All the sounds that form this composition derive from the elaboration of two Fazioli piano samples (a3 and tapswpedal). Starting from this two samples I tried to change their physical characteristics in order to generate a range of sounds more o less different compared to their original variety. This was possible using particular technique of sound processing such as spectral stretching, waveset distorsion, waveset enveloping, octave stacking, etc.. .

Larry Matthew Gaab

Larry Matthew Gaab is a native of the United States. He composes in his music studio in Chico, California, U.S.A.. His body of works are for tape alone and for mixed acoustic and electronic instruments. The pieces utilize improvisation, composition, and computer generation. His works have been selected for electroacoustic festivals and concerts in the Americas and in Europe.

The work incorporated Fazioli piano samples in the musical materials. It was composed especially for the PianoForte Chicago Mix for the 60x60 project. "Scattering Memory To Bed" is about the occupations and preoccupations of the day rupturing and dismantling to let nature take it's course.

Iris Garrelfs

Iris Garrelfs is a soundartist and composer "generating animated dialogues between innate human expressiveness and the overt artifice of digital processing" as the Wire Magazine put it. Others have compared her music to Philip Glass, Joan La Barbara and Henri Chopin. Iris looks at the interplay of space, technology and human expression through performances, mixed media projects, and recordings. Now in its 16th year, Iris is one of the founding directors/curator of Sprawl.

"November Song" is a piece of moods emerging from sounds. Fog drifting through empty streets, sadness creeping in from the greyness. But, on the positive side, it is short...

Monroe Golden

Monroe Golden is a composer from rural Alabama whose works often explore microtonal systems. Critics have described his compositions as "delightfully disorienting," "lovely, sumptuous, yet arcane,” and "irresistible music, full of wit and beauty.” There are three complete CDs of his music, A Still Subtler Spirit (Living Artist Recordings, 2003), Alabama Places (innova Recordings, 2007), and Incongruity (self-published, 2011).

Progress was composed for the 60X60 PianoForte Mix, and is built entirely from selected Fazioli piano samples, transformed (using Adobe Audition) into an extended just intonation system with analogous rhythmic structures. The title is intended as verb rather than noun.
Mannering

Jim Haynes

Jim Haynes is an intermedia artist from the San Francisco Bay Area, working with systems of decay across sound, video, photography, performance, and installation.

Mannering began with a simple chord progression using the piano samples. Melody is hardly something common in my work, so stressed and fractured those sounds through noise aggregation, phasing, and parametric filters, to quickly arrive at something more in keeping with the cracked drone that is more in keeping with my output.

Jonathan Hey

Jonathan Hey is a composer, pianist and educator in Chicago. Jonathan played in the inaugural Experimental Piano series at PianoForte in 2008.

"IGR6" is based upon the concept of a Contrafact: new melodies based upon pre-existing "changes". IGR6 is a contrafact of one of the most often re-created songs, George Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm". It was created entirely from Fazioli Piano samples.

Not much is known about Err0r_500 except that he's a composer, guitarist, laptop musician, sound artist and web designer born in La Rochelle (France) in 1983 now living in Paris and that his musical approach radically changed when he heard for the first time the "Raga Malkauns" by Nikhil Banerjee. His musical interests range from Elizabethan music to contemporary experimental music.

The work is only made with heavily processed samples of a Fazioli piano.

Cody Kauhl

Cody Kauhl is an American acoustic/electronic composer currently completing an M.M. in Music Composition at University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC). With music performed in regional conferences (including Electronic Music Midwest), Cody graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.M. in Music Theory/Composition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). He has won a number of composition contests at SIUE and UMKC and has received commissions from university and public school wind ensemble conductors.

Created in Max/MSP, Mixed Priorities processes the Fazioli piano samples and utilizes an algorithm that generates pitch and rhythm based on constantly shifting variables. However, this miniature prioritizes other factors such as register, timbre, depth, and playback speed. These elements drive the dramatic structure and mimic an organic agency not possible with the relatively simple algorithm used as its basis.

Michael Kinney

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota in August of 1969, Michael Kinney began studying the piano at an early age. As a recipient of The Vittorio Giannini Award for Composition, he received a Bachelor of Music in Composition from The North Carolina School of Arts (NCSA) in 1994. In 1998 he received his Masters of Music in Composition from Brooklyn College where he held a fellowship at The Center For Computer Music as well as teaching courses in music composition, theory, eartraining, keyboard skills, and music appreciation from 1996 through 2000. Kinney worked for The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance as a musical accompanist from 1995 through 1999. He was on the faculty of the Alvin Ailey School from 1997 through 2001 where he was a musical accompanist as well as teacher of a special music course for people training in dance performance. In 2001 Kinney moved to France to study computer music at The Centre de Création Musicale Iannis Xenakis (CCMIX) . Kinney currently resides in Paris and is on the faculty of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris where he creates music for dance and teaches a course in accompagnement de danse.

Hoyong Lee (b.1985) is a composer and sound/media artist from Seoul who works with combinations of electroacoustic sound and visual, including soundscape. He performed his audio-visual work at ICMC 2012 in Slovenia, and got ICMA scholarship. During the undergraduate study, he majored in Culture Contents Planning which focused on digital media storytelling. Currently he's studying on New media music composition at Graduate School of Hanyang University.

This piece represents the memory of insomenia in the last hottest summer night. At the beginning, directly recorded my sigh & pecil sounds expresses 'back to the past'. Then all factors moved only in A pitch. In order to realize the main rhythm, I splitted & re-array the FAZ-A1~A8 piano Stereo samples according to the tempo & duration of this samples (short-noped- Ped). After that, the editted FAZ-fnailsonStrings3 appears likes the bridge between the past and now.

Eric Leonardson

Eric Leonardson is a Chicago-based composer, radio artist, sound designer, instrument inventor, improviser, visual artist, and teacher. He has devoted a majority of his professional career to unorthodox approaches to sound and its instrumentation with a broad understanding of texture, atmosphere and micro-tones. As a practicing artist and educator he has an interest in the elusive lines that separate art media and disciplines; the promise of technology to enable new possibilities in art, discovering connections between physical action, sensory perception, and ideas. Leonardson is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Sound at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, President of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, founder of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology, and Executive Director of the World Listening Project.

"Malformation" is a digital sound creation that uses one small piano sample read by a self-made application, built from Nobuyasu Sakonda's real time granular synthesis Max/MSP patches, made in 2000. Michael Norris's Sound Magic freeware spectral shaping AU plugin and the Freeverb AU plugin added timbral and spatial characteristics to the output of the resynthesized piano sample.

Fiona Linnane is a composer, teacher and musician living in the West of Ireland. She is director of CoMA Limerick, a new music ensemble in residence at the Hunt Museum, Limerick and she is represented by the Contemporary Music Centre, Dublin. Her current compositional interests are centred around the links between painting and music.

'The Piano Tuner' or 'A Terrifying Tale of Unequal Temperament' relays the experience of receiving the bad news that your old creaky piano can no longer be tuned up to concert pitch.

John Maycraft

Johns musical remit is to explore parameters and possibilities for electric and acoustic guitar, sometimes on their own, sometimes with sparse accompaniment. John also co-writes with Bernie Calvert "The Hollies" bass player. This musical friendship continues up to the present day. John is a member of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA). He is also a member of the Mechanical Copyrights Protection Society (MCPS) and the Performing Rights Society (PRS).

The piece is written as if observing one of the London underground train stations... a fly on the wall! I recall the experience from many of my visits to London. I remember the craziness of the rush hour. Everyone standing waiting for the train, general hustle and bustle; everyone moving, yet once on the train, all remain still! Yet.. movement occurs.. independent of the effort of travellers...
360 Steps

Mike McFerron

Mike McFerron is professor of music and composer-in-residence at Lewis University, and he is founder and co-director of Electronic Music Midwest (http://www.emmfestival.org). His music can be heard on numerous commercial CDs as well as on his website at http://www.bigcomposer.com.

360 Steps for fixed media was written for the 2012 Vox Novus "60x60PianoForte" project. Using only two recorded samples of a Fazioli piano, this composition journeys 360 distinct steps from A440 to A# (466.1637hz), or one half step. Just like our traditional tuning system, each "step" is equally weighted; however, this octave is not divided into 12 equal steps, but into 4,320 equal steps. If this tuning system were realized on an actual piano the entire piano would have 31,320 piano keys.

Dave Mooney

Dave Mooney is a Dublin-born electronic music composer and performer. Following the completion of a Diploma in Sound and Music Technology at The Sound Training Centre, he pursued an MA in Music Technology at the University of Limerick. There, he studied music composition with Jurgen Simpson and Dr. Kerry Hagan. Dave's primary compositional activities focus on found sound manipulation, soundscape composition and the application of cognitive psychology to music composition.

Cloudforms is an electroacoustic / glitch work which was created using an array of custom sample manipulation tools that were developed in Csound & Max/MSP. The work sets out to explore the timbral qualities of the piano whilst also playing with the listener's ability to discern the source.

Ken Paoli received his undergraduate training at DePaul University, studying composition with Phil Winsor. His graduate degrees are from Northwestern University, where he studied composition with Lyndon DeYoung and M. William Karlins. He is currently a professor of music at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. He formerly taught at DePaul University and Western Illinois University. Ken resides in Wheaton, IL and maintains a busy schedule of teaching, performing, composing and arranging. Ken will be an invited lecturer and composer at the WOCMAT in Hsinchu,Taiwan this November. His latest multi-channel laptop work Phil-Harmonia II will be premiered. "

Cagey Memories uses a variety of samples from acoustic and prepared piano as the source elements of the composition. The samples were manipulated using digital signal processing. At times the manipulated samples provided new material to be processed and included in the work. The resultant material was rejoined and juxtaposed and to create motives and gestures unifying the composition.

Giorgos Papamitrou

Giorgos Papamitrou was born in Athens in 1979. He completed his studies in guitar, harmony, counterpoint, fuga and composition. He has participated in "Music for Cinema and Theatre", "MaxMsp" and "Musical and Technical Principles of Custom Electronic Instruments" seminars. His work has been played in various concerts dedicated to young composers. He has been awarded in 2011 ‘Simeonis International Composer’s Competition for choir’.

"Steps" begins with the use of pure samples (tapping and scratching on the strings). Then, gradually evolves by the usage of sound effects processed by a specific software and by the introduction of one minimal melody and along with one repetitive note played on the piano’ s keys. During listening, all piano’ s sounds and notes are getting faster simultaneously. This gives us the impression of an existence, that is directed ‘Step by Step’ from an initial, to a transformed environement.

Piotr Pawlik

Born in 1968 in Poznan (Poland). Studied composition at Poznan Music Academy under the direction of Jan Astriab. In 1994 received a scholarship allowing him to enter Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy, where he studied under Ennio Moriccone direction. Piotr Pawlik's pieces were played in Poland, Sweeden, Germany and Russia

The piece "El encuentro abrileńo - The april meeting" was created in may of 2012. The duration of the composition is exactly 48", she is a perfect example what I love in music: minimalism, sonorism, simplicity and synthesis.

JAKUB POLACZYK(*1983) is a polish composer, pianist and musicologist. Acheieved master degree in composition from Music Academy in Cracow and Musicology from the Jagiellonian University. Since 2011 full scholarship student of the Artist Diploma with Reza Vali in the Carnegie Mellon School of Music in Pittsburgh. His pieces were awarded and performed in Poland and aborad.

Klaus Reinhard

Born in Germany in 1941, I immigrated to US in 1961. Active in the visual arts for 55 years, I'm mostly known for my images depicting subjects related to music and humor in music. My paper sculpture of the "Alban Berg String Quartet" entitled "The Rehearsal" has become a well known image around the world especially in music lovers circles. I like to compose short, whimsical pieces of music for small diverse ansambles and odd instrument combinations and love to improvise on the piano but do not read or write music notation, thus using digital software.

This piano pice is an improvisation that was edited with "Sibelius" notation software.

Scott Rubin

The music of Montréal-based American composer Scott Rubin seeks to realize an understanding between the intersections of aesthetic and cognition. Scott's music has been read and performed in the United States, Canada, Colombia, and France by ensembles such as the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, the University of Illinois New Music Ensemble, the JACK Quartet, and the Phoebus Chamber Orchestra. He is currently studying composition with Philippe Leroux as an M.Mus. candidate at McGill University.

Piano Set recontextualizes the musical realm of the piano to that of a drum set or a glitch sequencer. It draws influence from the fast rhythms and heavy bass lines of electronic dance music and the distorted timbres of glitch music.

Marilinda Santi

Marilinda Santi was born in Milan in 1956. She graduated in Electroacoustic Music, Music Composition and Choral Music and Choral Conducting at Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi (Milan - Italy). Her compositions have received honors and have been performed at Russolo-Pratella (Italy), Bourges (France), Musica Nova (Czech Republic), >Sync 2010 Yeams Ekaterinburg (Russia), 60x60 Athena mix and Livewire mix 2011, 60x60 Athena mix 2012 (Usa). Her essayes have been published in Auditorium review. She teaches Music Technologies at High School Music "A. Cairoli" in Pavia (Italy).

I used these samples exploring the minimal sound world created by their releases, resonances and reflections inside the soundbox of the piano.

Snapshot II is the second attempt to create short compositions that capture a direct and immediate idea. The little piece is composed by 4 Fazioli Piano Samples modified, overlapped and reversed to give the sensation that there is a independent, mysterious and fascinating life in the deep of the sound box of the piano.

Raised in Warm Springs, Georgia (population <475), Alan Shockley holds degrees in composition from the University of Georgia, Ohio State, and Princeton University (M.F.A., Ph.D.). He's held residencies at the MacDowell Colony, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Centro Studi Ligure, and the Virginia Center for the Arts, among others. He's currently Assistant Professor and Director of Composition/Theory in the Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach.

With hints of wind and water, all of the sounds of this study originate in three short piano samples. Pedal sounds generated almost all of the work.

Nahum-Hugh Smith

I am Nahum, and have been so for 23 years. I hail from Chicagoland. My first musical experience involved dry spaghetti, a pot, and rubber bands (let your imagination run wild). Having had a brief (12-year) obsession with hitting pieces of wire affixed to wood, I now teach and play guitar for a living. Aside from that, I study music theory and composition at Elmhurst College, where, when I'm lucky, I can coerce other students into helping me convert my ideas into sounds.

This piece was inspired in part by a poorly-timed turning-on of the radio, which left me confusing a woman's voice with an electric guitar; I also gained an appreciation for the timbre/envelope dynamic. By removing, at times, the initial attack from the piano's envelope of sound, I was able to limit myself to using only the provided samples without feeling starved for contrasting timbres (the percussive samples, as well as a teeny-tiny bit of chorus and reverb, also helped...).

David Jason Snow

The compositions of David Jason Snow have been performed in concert by the New Juilliard Ensemble, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the American Brass Quintet, the Harvard Wind Ensemble, the Eastman Percussion Ensemble, and other artists throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. Snow has been the recipient of awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Maryland State Arts Council, the ASCAP Foundation, BMI, Musician magazine and Keyboard magazine, and has been an artist resident at Yaddo and the Millay Colony for the Arts. He holds degrees in music composition from the Eastman School of Music and Yale University.

I was in the audience at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1971 when, during a set featuring Dionne Warwick singing "What the world needs now is love," a flash mob of Ocean State situationists crashed the fence, stormed the stage and destroyed the piano. Not to endorse hippie hooliganism, but I couldn't figure out what Dionne Warwick was doing performing at a jazz festival either.

Ariane St-Louis is a French-Canadian female artist and she is currently a first year student in the Electroacoustic program at Concordia University in Montreal. After graduating from University of Montreal with a Masters' degree in Research Psychology, she decided to pursue her passion for music.

Piano Drops is a 60 seconds electroacoustic composition that was created using eight different recorded sounds from a piano. Each sound was then processed in many ways using reverse, reverb, delay, time-streching, pitch-shifting, compression and EQ. The composition was assembled on five mono channels.

LUCA VANNESCHI

Luca Vanneschi (b. 1962 in Montepulciano) studied composition with Detlev Glanert, Carlo Alberto Neri, David Graham, and Dinu Ghezzo. His music is performed in the entire world, winning more than twenty prizes and obtaining prestigious recognitions. Mr. Vanneschi has been composing the music for the plays put on by the "Compagnia del Teatro Povero di Monticchiello" since 1991. Hans Werner Henze said about his music: " it is an intelligent, non conformist, elegant and full of grace music." Mr. Vanneschi was elected Fellow of the North American Academy of Arts and Sciences since year 2002.

After having burnt each evocative and narrative aspect, the "About Fazioli" musical structure gives a concrete form to a space lacking in time, where the pure sound is the unique presence and the unique voice.

Sander Roscoe Wolff

I am an artist, composer, improvisor, sound designer, audio engineer, journalist and arts advocate based in Long Beach, CA. For the last 10 years I've been performing exclusively using systems based improvisational techniques, with voice, lap steel guitar, environmental recordings, and synthesizers as primary sound sources. I have participated in seven of nine SoundWalk events, curated a long running experimental music series, and have two current projects: Ain Soph Aur, and Toaster Music.

Swollen considers the pure tone and natural dynamics of piano while, at the same time, recontextualizing the instrument so that the listener can, perhaps, discover something new. The acoustic power and resonance of the instrument has always been a fascination of mine, perhaps because I've never had a piano in my home. The simplicity of my approach, I hope, will reveal a beauty that might be obscured by a more sophisticated approach.
